Marion Medical Mission is a Christian organization that provides sustainable sources of clean, safe drinking water for impoverished communities in Africa.
In 2016, the organization built 2732 wells, providing an estimated 400,000 people (240,000 of which are children) with a sustainable source of safe drinking water. The wells built cover roughly 57,000 square miles in Malawi, Zambia, and Tanzania.
Marion Medical Mission has 4 well programs, 4 African Coordinators, 20 African Field Officers, 87 Installation Supervisors, 840 African Well Builders, and village maintenance people.
Everything is made, purchased and administered in Africa by Africans, who make the bricks, provide the sand, stone and unskilled labor. Marion Medical Mission provides what they can’t – pipes, pumps, cement and skilled African builders. Village communities maintain their own well for only around $10 a year.
